Tonight at 6:10 pm at the Town Council Meeting, 35 Cedar Street, Morrisville NY 13408 there will be a Public Hearing regarding changes in zoning codes for the Town of Eaton. Below are the topics for tonight's Public Hearing.

CODE CHANGES FOR SETBACKS

Yard setbacks for residential buildings
• Front of building will remain 50 feet
• Rear of building will become 25 feet
• Side of building will be 10 feet
If building is on lake side of road, the front of the building faces the lake.
If the building is on the opposite side of road, the front of building faces the road.

Code change on RD2 parameters

The current parameter of the RD2 district is 2000 feet from the lake shoreline. The new code change reduces that distance to 1000 feet which was the original parameter established years ago

Code change on Collection of Scrap Metal

Any resident who collects scrap metal must have any scrap metal enclosed behind a solid fence of at least 6 feet high.

Code change on mobile homes

No single wide mobile homes will be allowed placed on properties in the town unless in a certified Mobile Home Park. Double wide homes will be allowed. If a resident has an existing single wide Mobile home, they may replace it with another single wide within a year of removing the first home. Farms are exempt from this regulation.

Code change on Recreational Vehicles

Recreational Vehicles (RV’s) will not be allowed to be a residence in the Town of Eaton unless the owner gets a special permit from the Town for a period not to exceed 4 months.
